An initial assessment was conducted with the CEO and program participants to evaluate the current state of leadership development. Based on the results, Sirius Solutions developed a pioneering year-long developmental program to cultivate a deeper bench of well-trained young leaders ready to step into senior roles. The developmental program included quarterly meetings facilitated by Sirius Solutions and a representative from the nonprofit centered around a critical leadership theme. Participants completed quarterly assignments that reinforced the concepts learned during each meeting. Our team also created ten micro-learning modules, released monthly, each designed to teach a specific leadership competency, reinforcing learning through in-person sessions. The program concluded with a presentation addressing a key business challenge faced by the organization, allowing participants to apply their acquired knowledge.

The program successfully resulted in 3 participants advancing to senior positions, saving the organization tens of thousands of dollars in recruitment and onboarding costs for new leaders. The initiative also fostered a significant cultural shift by establishing an internal leadership development program. The nonprofit leadership team was so impressed by the program’s results that it committed to continuing the program annually for young leaders, and plans are underway for a similar program targeting the senior leadership team.
